Vidamo adds mobile phones to Ansur’s tool box of image and video capture for use in disaster and crisis management.
Presented at the global ISCRAM (International Community on Information Systems for Crisis Response and Management) conference in Gothenburg last May, an application developed for mobile phones allows rescue or research personal to quickly capture and send images from a location (E.G flood or war zone) for analysis by experts often based in other parts of the world.
Ansur’s platform allows images sent from the field to be analyzed remotely and opens new methods of communication between a centralized system and the devices used by personal in the field.
Vidamo will add SMS broadcast to the mobile solution allowing centralized staff to send instant requests to personal in the field. The use of inexpensive devices like the mobile phone allows organizations like the UN to increase the number of people able to collect data from particular areas.
